Menstrual Hygiene and Homemade Sanitary Pad Making Training to Adolescent Girls, Matihani Municipality, Mahottari

To support adolescent girls to manage their menstruation with dignity, CDMS with the support of USAID is organizing Menstrual Hygiene and Homemade Sanitary Pad making training under the project “USAID Local Works: Mahottari” at the various schools in  Matihani Municipality, Mahottari.

On 31st May 2023, CDMS conducted a training on Menstrual Hygiene and Homemade Sanitary Pad making at Shree Ram Secondary School in Matihani Municipality. The training aimed to educate and empower a total of 35 adolescent girls studying in grades 7, 8 and 9 at Shree Ram Secondary School. The training included the menstrual process, menstrual hygiene, menstrual myths and making homemade sanitary pads. The principal of Shree Ram Secondary School also attended the training to promote a Menstrual Hygiene friendly environment within the school.

We believe that this training will contribute to fostering a supportive menstrual hygiene environment in schools, ultimately reducing school dropout rates and absenteeism among girls during their menstruation.
