Nepali Yuwa in Climate Action and Green Growth (NYCAGG)

Nepali Yuwa in Climate Action and Green Growth (NYCAGG) project is funded by European Union to promote the involvement of young Nepali people in green growth, environmental protection, and combating climate change. NYCAGG is a four year long project that will be implemented in Province 2, Karnali Province and Sudurpaschim Province through the consortium partners Youth Innovation Lab (YI-LAB), Restless Development Nepal, CREASON, CDMS. Climate Fellowship, Climate Smart Entrepreneurship, Mentee-mentorship, Digital Advocacy, and Youth Sounding Board are the major activities focus on generating innovative ideas, creating employment opportunities, and advocating for policy changes to promote environmental protection.

As a consortium partner, CDMS is responsible to ensure the integration of the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion in the project. Disasters often have a more severe impact on women, elderly people, children, people with disabilities, and marginalized groups. With the frequency and intensity of disaster events on the rise due to climate change, these at-risk groups are becoming even more vulnerable. It is therefore crucial to include these groups in disaster risk reduction and management efforts to bring them into the mainstream.
